about Jo Dickie
Meet Jo
I’ve been running my web design business for six years now, and it’s my pride and joy. There’s nothing better than working with passionate people and knowing my work helps them make a real difference.
I’ve always been a fixer—tweaking, improving, making things work better. After uni, I landed in marketing, qualified, and wrote a mountain of brochures—but it was always the design side that excited me.
A move to Malaysia (where I couldn’t work) led me to art school. Turns out I wasn’t much of an artist, but I was quite good at design and typography. Back in the UK, I worked in marketing again—this time designing data systems, translating team needs into clear briefs, and making sure everything worked seamlessly. I loved turning complex ideas into clean, simple solutions.
Then came the game-changer: launching an online baby bedding business. I built the website with a developer, and everything clicked. Web design was my sweet spot—where creativity met strategy and design met functionality. I was definitely better at building the site than selling the blankets…
Starting my own web design business was a natural next step. I threw myself into learning—design, coding, troubleshooting—and now, after a good few years of experience, I get to do what I love most: building beautiful, high-performing websites that help my clients thrive.
When I’m not at my laptop, I’m usually outside—running, lake swimming, or cycling with my brilliant band of friends. I walk my Labrador (aka thinking time), do yoga, read loads, play the flute, drink coffee, and am a demon at spider solitaire.
Jo has reserves of patience that I had not known possible, always going the extra mile to ensure that everything was perfect and that all our ideas were met. Extremely personable and approachable, she made the website creation process fun, engaging and easy which was an unexpected bonus!
